Purpose

This network has been founded in 2006 by IAHR Past President Rosalind I. J. Hackett and former IAHR Executive Committee member Morny Joy to provide a forum for women in Religious Studies throughout the world to be in contact with one another. So, the basic aim is to encourage scholarly exchange under the auspices of the IAHR, as well as to help solidify friendships that have begun at various IAHR conferences in different countries and regions. We hope to provide a venue for dialogue on topics of mutual academic and professional interest.

Through this website, the IAHR Women Scholars Network aims to provide the following:

  • An E-mail List where we plan to post announcements regarding upcoming conferences, in addition to research grants and scholarly opportunities
  • A Resources page for the posting of recent publications, bibliographies, syllabi and course outlines, reports of latest research and other pertinent information
  • A place where participants can share conference photos and reports
  • Links to other associations and networks that could prove helpful for research

If you have resources, conference reports, conference photos, or links to other associations and networks that you would like to share on the website, please send all such items to Jenny.berglund@sh.se. Submissions are always welcome.

If you would like to become a member of the Women Scholars Network, please join our email list. This e-mail group is intended to provide a forum for women faculty and graduate students in Religious Studies to create networks and share information, experiences, ideas, challenges, opportunities etc. related to issues facing women working in the field of Religious Studies. This moderated list is meant to foster a cooperative and collegial atmosphere among such scholars.

You may join the Women Scholars Network email list and become a member of the IAHR-WSN by clicking here. If approved, you will be added to the IAHR-WSN list of scholars.
